The chairman of Itire Ikate LCDA, Hon Ahmed Apatira has introduced free bus rides to residents.
The removal of fuel subsidy which culminated in the surge in transportation fares made the council boss to provide buses to convey residents through the community at a very subsidized way.
The buses have been programmed to take the routes of Ijesha to Ojuelegba which has offered a relief to the residents.
Following the resumption of school activities, students are barred from paying any money to enjoy the free transportation scheme in Itire Ikate LCDA.
This have actually provided a substantial relief to the students who many have already had plans of taking a long walk to school.
Adults in Itire Ikate LCDA are to pay the subsidized fee of N100 per trip they made through the bus provided by their council.
