Truck Driver Runs Away After Locking Down Onikan Bridge

An unidentified driver has abandoned a container laden truck under Onikan bridge and run away.

The vehicle got stuck under the bridge between Flag House and Officer’s Mess, Onikan while trying to navigate Victoria Island.

As at the time of filing this report, scores of the officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority had gathered at the place to recover the truck.

One of the LASTMA officials with the name badge Mudashiru A.O told Echonews that the truck must have locked down the place in the midnight or early Tuesday morning.

Motorists going to Island from Third Mainland Bridge had been diverted towards Tafawa Balewa Square to burst out at Marina, leading to Ahmadu Bello Way.

Currently, LASTMA has stationed a towing vehicle to pull out the truck from under the bridge as traffic builds up along the axis.
