Council To Synergise With NIS To Curb Human Trafficking

The chairman of Badagry LG, Hon. OlusegunOnilude has pledged to work with the Nigerian Immigration Service to curb human trafficking across the border.

Onilude made the promise while hosting the newly deployed Divisional Immigration Officer (DIO) to Badagry, CSI S. S. Wusu.

The Divisional Immigration Officer embarked on the familiarisation tour after assumption of duties to formally introduce himself and his team to the Badagry council chairman.

Onilude, who hosted the DIO in his office at the secretariat, congratulated him on his appointment and welcomed him to the council as they discussed how to manage the cross-border issues in the community, and how to manage the inherent challenges in cross-border migration.

He, therefore, affirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the Nigeria Immigration Service and other security agencies in the discharge of their responsibilities.

Responding, the new DIO lauded the council chairman for being proactive and his relationship with security agencies which he said has manifested in the peace and tranquility enjoyed all over the border community.
