The Permanent Secretary of Edo State Sports Commission (ESSC) and chairperson of Bendel Insurance and Edo Queens, Mrs Sabina Chikere has urged Nigeria women’s football players to shun drug and concentrate on their budding career.
She made this known during the Sapphire Nigeria Women Football Supporters Club (SNWFSC) seminar on drug abuse which is titled ‘Embrace Football, Say No To Drugs’ to women footballers in Benin.
The event which was organized by SNWFSC in order to put young footballers on their toes and shouldn’t join the bandwagon of youths that are engaging in drug abuse.
The astute football administrator advised the young lads of staying away from drugs as it will hinder their progress in football.
Mrs Sabina charged the women footballers to stay dedicated to their career, and not use banned substances to enhance their career.
As the topic says, Embrace Football, Say No To Drugs’, Mrs Sabina encouraged the players not to loose focus on their goal and told them drug abuse is a distraction to their success in life.
As a loving mother, she highlighted the importance of staying focused on career and shunning shortcut to success which at the end of the day will negatively impact their career and shatter their dreams.
Madam Sabina is a well respected sport administrator in Edo State and she has contributed immensely to revive sport in the State which has seen the state take back its leadership at the summit of sport in Nigeria. of sport in Nigeria.
