Council boss lauds community media

The chairman of Orile-Agege Local Council Development Area, Hon. Johnson Babatunde, has commended the efforts if community media in the local council area.
He noted that community media practitioners have contributed immensely to the d development of the grassroots with their positive and insightful reportage of the government’s activities.
According to him, the community media is synonymous with grassroots development since they are closer to the government and people at the grassroots.
He said the community media should be accorded the respect and support needed for them to grow and present timely information about the grassroots governance to the people.
The council chairman particularly commended the first online community media platform, Agegetv in the council area for its community news reportage and media related activities in Agege and Orile-Agege.
The council boss, called “Mr Project” by his people, described the media platform as the best community media platform among others in the council area.
He made the statement while appreciating the efforts of all community media practitioners in Agege, during the inspection of his projects by the pioneer executive chairman of the Local Council Development Area, Hon. Taofeek Adaranijo, who paid him a courtesy visit last week.
