Elders and youths in Isolo LCDA are set for an exciting yuletide going by the plans of the council chairman. Adebayo Olasoju to host an end of the year party for elders and give indigent youths scholarships.
He added that his administration is assiduously working on providing a primary healthcare centre in Alagbeji Ward and citing an ultra-modern health care centre in Okota.
He said the free healthcare programme for the elderly ones he launched on Thursday was one of the numerous developmental projects in the health sector.
He stated that the commissioning of nine roads to. mark his 100 days in office will be followed by scholarships as well as skill acquisition and empowerment programmes for the youths and women.
His words: “We are working on security, welfare, and youth empowerment. We want to give 100 people empowerment tools as well as scholarships to 100 students.
“The free healthcare programme we launched on Thursday is another giant stride this administration has made within three months of assumption of office. We’ve decided to also prioritise the welfare of our elderly because we want them to enjoy sound health in their old age. As I said earlier, it will be done monthly to complement the healthcare treatment they enjoy at our primary healthcare centres.
He said the end of the year party will enable elders to socialise.
His words; ‘It should be noted that the programme is not only in furtherance of our developmental agenda but also complement the efforts of our governor, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu in the health sector and his “Greater Lagos” mantra.’
