The President of Estate Youth Parliament (EYP) in Low Cost Housing Estate (Jakande Estate), Yusuf Adeyemi, has tasked the youths in Ejigbo council area to always aspire for leadership  with the intention of making significant change in their environment.

This advice was given in an exclusive interview with our correspondent as the world celebrated the International Youth Day last week.

He urged the youths to engage in beneficial social gatherings such as politics and to ensure absolute commitment so that they can have a unified voice in the decision making process of the country.

“It’s high time conscious youths started involving in politics as it is an important tool that has always had impact on our lives. The environment we find ourselves is a strong political one that controls our well-being and as a result, the youths’ contribution would be a significant one towards developmental change.

“It saddens my mind that many of us do not have interest in politics as they think it is a dangerous dirty game. But I must say that there is light in politics; it helps us understand the administrative part of how our country is governed. My message to all youths in Ejigbo is to rise up and get more interested in issues affecting us.”
