Ndigbo APC blesses Olasoju, others, donates campaign materials

The umbrella body of Igbos in All Progressives Congress (APC); Ndigbo in APC, Isolo LCDA, has officially thrown their weight behind the candidates of the party for the chairmanship and councillorship positions in the council area.

The group, headed by Hon. Mark Eleribe during its visit to the chairmanship candidate of the party, Hon. Adebayo Olasoju, in his campaign office, pledged their maximum supports for his victory and all the councillor candidates in the seven political wards in the council area.

Eleribe explained that all Igbos in the party who have been harmonised into Ndigbo in APC is on course to ensure convincing victory for the party in the fast-approaching election.

The group, in its usual way, offered traditional blessings for Olasoju and other candidat and donated 500 campaign posters and 6 banners to support his campaign and publicity.

One of the leaders, Chief Ekeke, described Olasoju as the luckiest chairmanship candidate in the council area, noting that the official and ceremonious visitation was unprecedented.

He explained that the traditional blessing was an attestation to the sincerity and genuineness of the Ndigbos’ show of solidarity and support for Olasoju as he expressed his confidence that Olasoju will run an all-inclusive administration.

In reaction, Olasoju who spoke on behalf of his team, appreciated the kind gesture and noted that the already established relationship with the Igbos will be sustained beyond the coming election and the 2023 general elections.

He reiterated that the cordial relationship will continue to bear mutual benefits.

He, however, proposed a meeting with the extended members of the group which the coordinator, Eleribe explained that it will be convened soonest.

In the words of Olasoju: “What we need at this period is for everybody to understand and believe in one Nigeria. People should believe that we have a task ahead not just about this local government but the Igbos should corporate with the host to have a better community and they’ve said their grievances. And that the relationship we have established with them in the 2019 election.

“Today we have given them a fair share in elective positions in the local government, the same thing will still go for the appointment. They are very cooperative. I want to thank, Chief Nixon, prince Obi and other Igbo leaders and assure them that the unity we’ve fostered will live with us for a very long time.”

Other members of the delegate include High Chief Amadi, Hon. Kanayo Osondu, Hon. Franca, Hon. Sylvester Obi, Mr Emeka Nwagboso, Hon. Chika Oniwu.
