The chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area (LGA), Hon. Sunday Olaifa has revealed that his party is wooing aggrieved aspirants of the ruling All Progressives Congress in the countdown to the July 24 polls.
Olaifa, who also called on the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) to ensure free and fair elections, urged the Police to provide tight security for the candidates and the electorate during and after the elections.
Olaifa doubles as the Chair-of-chair of PDP LGA chairmen in the state and the National Deputy Chairman of PDP 774 LGA Chairmen.
He said his party is ready for the election with consummate candidates for all positions in the LGA, urging the electoral umpire and the security agency to exhibit professionalism at the polls.
He boasted that his party will massively mobilise the electorate for the election and defend its votes, saying any unprofessional conduct from the electoral officers or the security operative will be strongly resisted.
He, however, pledged that his party will willingly accept the outcome of the election if it is free and fair.
Olaifa told ECHONEWS that his party would leverage on any opportunity that may be created by the ruling party to hijack some of its (APC) members, saying his party has been wooing some of the aggrieved members of the ruling party.
He warned those who were destroying banners belonging to PDP’s candidate in Ishagatedo/Ire-Akari Ward F4, stating that his party would not hesitate to take legal action against such person.
