The National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Ejigbo branch has joined other loyalists to declare total support for the reelection of Hon. Monsurudeen Bello (Obe) as Ejigbo LCDA chairman.
Obe is locking horns with Hon. Peter Ajayi, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Babajide Sanwoolu on political matters, who has also bought All Progressives Congress (APC) form to secure the party’s ticket to contest the election.
Speaking to ECHONEWS, the union chairman in Ejigbo, Alhaji Femi Olowu, said the entire members of the union are giving their mandates to Obe right from the party’s primary to the general election.
He disclosed that the union is supporting Obe having been satisfied with his administration in his first term in office, noting that in his first tenure, Obe embarked on mass road rehabilitation which eased the movement of road users within the community.
He said the road project greatly enhanced their work as road transport workers.
According to him, the union had enjoyed the service of Obe throughout his tenure as it did not only benefitted in the area of road construction but also economic revival.
He said the aspirant has also in his own way alleviated the economic challenge of the community.
“We are glad that during Obe’s tenure more roads have been constructed as he even went to the extent of linking internal feeder roads to reduce the pressure on the major roads and with this, it would help reduce the rate at which the major roads develop potholes over time.
“In fact, the road rehabilitation has not only eased our job as drivers, but it has also helped sellers of perishable goods with easy transportation and unhindered movement, giving them the opportunity to make enough profit from their goods,” he said.
Olowu called on all APC party members to take advantage of the direct primaries to vote for the right candidate to fly the party’s ticket during the local government election.
