Int’l Footballers who started their career from Oshodi-Isolo LGA

Grassroots football clubs in Oshodi-Isolo have produced world class talents who have attained international placements.

 

These players started their career from the grassroots but hard work, perseverance and luck made them achieve their dreams of securing a professional contract in top flight league clubs across the world. Some of them are:

 

RASHEED ADEYANJU  : He is 25 years old and currently plays for Cambodia top League side, Tiffy Army FC, where he is presently the vice captain. Adeyanju started his career with Diadem Stallions formerly known as Ysdron FC.

 

He is 1.80cm in height and weighs 75kg. He has a nomadic career playing for different teams which include Saint George FC in Ethiopia and Magusa Turk Gucu in Cyprus before sealing a short deal with Sealife FC in Maldives. After the expiration of his contract, he moved to Aswan FC in Egypt before returning to the Cambodia league to play for Naga World FC, Build Bright United before settling down at Tiffy Army FC.

 

Adeyanju’s achievement include President Cup runner up in 2014 in Cambodia, Sponsor Fulsal Cup runner up in 2014 and 3rd place in Melfone Cambodia league in 2016.

 

He is skilled in offensive technique, having ability to shoot the ball with both legs, good concentration with or without the ball, good positioning skill and an eye for goal.

 

IFEANYI IFEANYI made his move to Europe through Unstoppable Sport Foundation and aided by his grassroots club Golden Stars FC of Ejigbo. He is a midfield maestro, great passer of the ball and a dead ball specialist.

 

Ifeanyi got into the national scene when he played for the Flying Eagles in the FIFA U20 world cup in 2015 before graduating to the senior national team which is the Super Eagles and has been capped six times by the national team.

He made his first big move to MFM FC and Akwa united. He had a short spell at Algerian side ES Setif before moving to Uzbekistan premier league top side, Mash’al Mubarek.

 

JIMOH ISMAHEEL is a winger, a good dribbler and very good at taking on defenders.

Ismaheel played for Unstoppable FC in Oshodi-Isolo where he was nurtured to become a super star and he currently plies his trade with Rovers FC in the Mauritius professional league.

 

KEHINDE ADEYEMI : He plays as a central defender and also can fill in at right back. He weighs 70kg and he is 5ft 8inches in  height. He uses both legs very well.
