PMAN endorses Oshodi branch

The Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN) has endorsed its branch in Oshodi with Pastor Segun Gbenro as the chairman of the branch.
The chairman the Lagos State Chapter of the Association, Sir Kareem Osoba aka Kabiyesi who endorsed the zonal branch at the Domino Garden event center, Mafoluku Oshodi, also unveiled the association’s new annual calendar.
Osoba said the association is a unified body for all artistes including musicians, producers, song writers and others, charging them to join the association for its benefits.
According to him, belonging to the association would afford artistes many opportunity such as avenues to showcase their talent, assistance for members that want to travel abroad to go easily without experiencing difficulties and to be connected with good marketers.
Apart from PMAN, Osoba informed that professional singers, writers and producers of music could equally join other associations such as Fuji Musicians Association of Nigeria (FUMAN), Gospel Musicians Association of Nigeria (GOMAN), Islamic Musicians Association of Nigeria (ISMAN) and Association of Juju Musicians of Nigeria, saying the government is in full support of the associations.
“The government of Lagos State is in support, if you refuse to join an association, you will also miss the benefits of associations and I want all members to always benefit from the association,” he said.
Equally speaking, the newly endorsed PMAN, Oshodi zone chairman, Gbenro noted that entertainment events are organized to create awareness and to inform the people in the community on how to book artistes for any kind of ceremonial event.
He warned: “People calling artistes for shows in the local government should always give and call musicians that are in association so as to know where to trace them if they breach agreement such as time fixed for a particular show and to avoid monetary issues with the clients.
“As musicians nowadays no longer do research instead, what they do is to copy others’ works. It is therefore advisable to go through association while booking orders for musical artistes.”
