The management of Ojodu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), under the chairmanship of Hon. David Odunmbaku in conjunction with Rotary Club Of Gbagada and LAWMA have inducted 60 youths to be trained on the use of aggregators to recycle waste into wealth.
The collaboration was borne out of seeking relevant solutions to the issues of environmental pollution and unemployment.
The scientific process of waste to wealth will help bring to the forefront in building a zero landfills and zero waste community.
At the council secretariat, selected trainees were inducted in the renewal, regeneration and recycling of waste for environmental and socio-economic benefits.
According to the organizers, the benefits will not just be for the protection of the environment from degeneration and pollution, but would also create jobs, generate income and establish recycling businesses for the beneficiaries of the training.
“Recycling exercise is explained to be a creative reuse that transforms waste materials, by-products and unwanted products into new materials or products of better quality and environmental value.”
