The Lagos State Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya popularly known as MC Oluomo has declared his support for Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, one of the aspirants contesting  for the position of Chairman in Oshodi-Isolo Local Government under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) next year.

Akinsanya, who is also  an APC chieftain in Oshodi, stated this during the commissioning of the new Solar powered Borehole Water Project at Salami Street, Afariogun Ward.

The tenure of council chairmen in Lagos State is expected to end next year July and the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) is expected to conduct local government elections to replace them before the time.

While declaring his support for Oloyede, Akinsanya said he (Oloyede) is a son of the soil who would put a smile on the faces of the residents, saying he could be contacted to be directed to do what the people want.

Akinsanya assured the residents that Oloyede would do exactly what they want, saying he knows their needs having been part of the community.

According to him, the aspirant is ready to do everything possible to rehabilitate roads, create employment opportunities for the residents and empower women, youths and artisans so as to reduce the unemployment rate in the council area.

He said: “Almaroof Oloyede is accessible and approachable. If he emerges as chairman of the council, he will operate an open door policy and programmes that would improve the living conditions of the residents.

“He would implement policies and programmes that would make Oshodi a conducive and peaceful environment. He would make clearing of drainage a priority. Rehabilitation and construction of schools would also receive a face lift.”

He therefore canvassed support for Oloyede to emerge the flag bearer of APC during the party’s primary in the next local government elections.
