The wife of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Alhaja Fatima Bello, has promised that more widows and aged people in the community would be reached with foods and monetary gifts as some of the beneficiaries of the first phase of an outreach programme tagged ‘Season’s Smile’ expressed joy over the gifts.
The beneficiaries who were full of appreciation to the first lady for reaching out to them with gifts described the gesture as spectacular which would help ease their needs during the festive period.

During the outreach, Alhaja Bello gave 100 widows and aged persons food items and N5, 000 each to help them enjoy the yuletide.
Speaking on the gesture, Alhaja Bello said it was her own way of celebrating the widows and the aged ones above 60 years in the community, saying she discovered they don’t have the strength to lobby for anything going on as benefit in the community anymore.
The first lady explained that it is not every time the widows and the aged have to run around for gifts due to their weakness hence, the need to reach out to them with the food items and the token of N5, 000 each.
She therefore promised that more people in the category would be reached as there is going to be another batch of the outreach.
Appreciating the first lady, one of the beneficiaries who spoke to ECHONEWS, Mrs. Olanike Abidoye, said she was very excited because she was blessed with food to cook at home which, according to her, was the most important to her.
In the same vein, the APC LG Chairman, Ejigbo LCDA, Alhaji Fatai Kasumu, commended the first lady for the gesture towards the widows and the aged people who are considered weak people in the community.
