Youths Take Advocacy Visit To NDLEA Office

The National Youth Council of Nigeria, (NYCN), Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Branch ably led by an ever inspiring youth leader & advocate, Engr. Adigun Olalekan Ibrahim, together with team, paid an advocacy visit to the Lagos State Command of NDLEA on Friday 2nd February, 2024, ahead their imminent 4th Breakfast Session targeted at addressing the menace of substance abuse.

The Breakfast Session is a monthly advocacy event organized by the local branch. Over the years, it has tackled various critical issues facing young people in the LCDA.

The upcoming session’s theme is “Menace of Drug Abuse,” which aims to raise awareness about the dangers of substance abuse and help rehabilitate affected youth.

The advocacy visit to the State Command of the NDLEA was necessary to gather insights and collaborate with the community in achieving the branch’s goals.

The State Commander expressed his appreciation for the visit and emphasized the need for community collaborations, particularly with young people. After hours of discussions, actionable conclusions were reached for implementation.

The visit concluded with introductions and various photo sessions, during which the state Commander received Advocacy Campaign souvenirs from the youth branch Coordinator, Engr. Adigun Ibrahim Olalekan, and his team.

It is crucial to understand that effectively addressing widespread drug abuse is a continuous effort that demands dedication and ample resources.

By prioritizing prevention, treatment, community involvement, and tackling underlying societal problems, it is conceivable to achieve significant strides in battling pervasive drug abuse and offering assistance to individuals and communities in distress.
