The youths in Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government, last week, embarked on sanitation of Obawole Market, saying the state of the market was embarrassing.
According to the youths, the site of the market was an eyesore as waste littered the market environment.
The youth leader, Hon. Olamipo Ikuomola stated that the youths carried out the selfless service to correct the narrative of waste mismanagement in the market environment.
“We intend to preach and practice the culture of cleanliness and hygienic waste management to prevent outbreak of diseases.”
Ikuomola appealed to market women to desist from indiscriminate waste disposal to avoid blockage of drains and air pollution in the environment.
He further engaged traders on the importance of having Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) to enable them participate in the election process as a tool to make the desired candidates to emerge winners at the polls.
He appealed to traders to vote for All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates at the forthcoming general elections.
