You Started Talking Rubbish After Pepper Soup – Wumi Blast Afeez Owo

Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola has fired back at veteran filmmaker Afeez Owo for drawing comparisons between her and his wife, fellow actress Mide Martins.
In a recent appearance on the African A-List podcast, Afeez Owo commented on the actresses’ personalities, suggesting that Wumi’s on-screen persona mirrors her real-life character more closely than Mide’s.
“While Mide’s movie roles are quite different from how she behaves in real life, Wumi’s roles are closer to who she is,” Afeez said during the interview. “Violence is her comfort zone. She reacts quickly when provoked and doesn’t tolerate nonsense. Mide, on the other hand, is calm even when offended.”
Wumi, visibly displeased with the remarks, responded in a now-deleted video posted to her Instagram page. She criticized Afeez for airing personal grievances in a public setting, calling the interview “rubbish.”
“Must every disagreement be dragged to a podcast?” she said. “They gave you a mic and some pepper soup, and you started talking nonsense. Am I a mad woman? If people don’t provoke me, why would I be angry? I’ve never insulted you. I still respect you, despite your unfortunate behavior.”
Both Wumi Toriola and Mide Martins are known for playing fiery, strong-willed characters on screen. However, Wumi made it clear that she found Afeez’s comments inappropriate and disrespectful.
