The new Chairman of Community Development Committee (CDC), Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mr. Segun Olatunde has charged all Community Development Associations (CDA) to ensure they have at least a major project to be executed in their respective communities.
Olatunde, who made the announcement during the CDC inaugural meeting last week implored all CDA executives to be developmental in action and be up and doing, stressing that it is a must for all to complement the efforts of the Council Chairman, Hon. Shamsudeen Olaleye in their communities.
He said: “Every CDA must have a meaningful project. It is very important this session. We must have major projects to be executed in our communities. That is why we are called Community Development Association.
“If you embark on a developmental project such as construction of culvert and you discover that the money is not coming in as expected to continue the project, you can table it before the council chairman for assistance. As CDA, you need to commit to do something for your community. You need to complement the efforts of the local council and who knows your project might win an award in the forthcoming Community Day.”
He noted that the cordial relationship between the council chairman and the CDC has been yielding positive results in terms of council’s interventions, facilitating developmental projects in the community.
“We have a very good relationship because the CDC works hand in hand with the council as it is expected and we are being carried along when it comes to developmental projects in the LCDA. This is evident during the budget retreat as the CDC was given the opportunity to make its contribution. We are looking forward to the passage of the budget by the lawmakers.”
