Y2025: Agbado-Oke Odo Presents N5.9 Billion Budget Estimate

The Chairman of Agbado/Oke-Odo LCDA, Hon. David Famuyiwa, yesterday, presented Appropriation Bill of N5.9 Billion for the 2025 fiscal year to the 5th Legislative Arm. The 2025 Appropriation Bill christened “Budget of Renewed Hope” is prepared towards securing infrastructural development, economic growth, improved lives of the populace through restoration of hope for a better and greater Agbado/Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area.

The Budget, which is structured around five (5) key pillars:

Infrastructure, Health, Environment, Education and Human Capital Development heralds the culmination of this present administration.

The Council Boss in his keynote address said his administration in the last three and half years, have completed several significant projects, including roads and health care centres and he hopes to consolidate on the successes while laying the foundation for a brighter future.

He emphasised his administration’s intention and commitment to maintaining policy thrust of prudent management of resources, budgetary discipline, observance of due process, ensuring good value for money, completion of ongoing projects, provision of basic infrastructure, improving the livelihood of citizenry and enhancement of Internally Generated Revenue (IGR)”.

Speaking during the budget presentation, the Leader of the House, Hon. Olatunji Ogunyemi, commended the Council Chairman for the giant strides recorded by his administration in infrastructural and human capital development in the last three and half years.

He added that, the legislative arm remains expectant that all spending proposals for the 2025 budget will be guided by the principles of fiscal discipline, transparency, accountability, and prudent utilisation of scarce resources.

Motion to accept the Appropriation Bill for consideration was later moved by the Deputy Leader and Councillor representing Ward B, Hon. Olutayo Akinsuyi, while the Majority Leader and Councillor representing Ward A, Hon. Busola Afolabi gave the vote of thanks.

The Budget Presentation witnessed the presence of notable dignitaries including the other Ward Councillors – Hon.Okasunkanmi Adeyoola (Ward C), Hon.Fisayo Fadipe (Ward D), Hon. Olawale Omitogun (Ward E), Hon. Kayode Obaleye (Ward F), the Vice Chairman, Hon. Ajoke Moromoke Obe, Council Manager, Mr.Olugbenga Shogbanmu, Council Treasurer, Mrs Ayodele Abdul Salam and other Management Team, Secretary to the Local Government, Chief Akinwunmi James Odeyemi and other Supervisors, LGA Party Chairman. Hon. Yinusa Mukaila and other Party leaders, CDC representatives, Market leaders, SSAs amongst others.
