To mark the opening of its new office, the Women Empowering Women and Disabled Foundation, led by Mrs. Amope Phillips, has intensified its empowerment efforts,” said Oluwafunmilayo Adebayo. “Today, we distributed cash support, grinding machines, sewing machines, and other vital resources to widows, individuals with disabilities, and others in need. One beneficiary was overwhelmed with emotion, crying tears of joy.
Adebayo, while addressing the beneficiaries, urged them to make prudent use of the resources provided by the foundation, emphasizing the importance of personal effort and financial responsibility for their families.
She further stressed that the items were intended to meet genuine needs and should not be sold, as this would defeat the purpose of the foundation’s support.
Moreover, the foundation actively tracks the progress of beneficiaries by conducting regular unannounced visits, offering continuity support and ensuring that the resources provided are effectively utilized.
Adebayo shared encouraging stories of beneficiaries who have benefitted from the foundation’s support, including a disabled hairdresser whose business has been sustained by the foundation’s assistance.
She highlighted the transformative impact that the foundation’s support has had on the lives of these beneficiaries, underscoring the importance of their ongoing efforts to uplift marginalized individuals in the community.
