Woman in Court For Damaging Complainant N1m Property

The police on Wednesday arraigned a businesswoman, Edna Udoko for allegedly beating up a woman and damaging her property worth over one million Naira.
Udoko who resides at 2C Ogunaike Street, Shangisha Magodo in Lagos is charged with conspiracy, assault and willful damage.
The 37-year-old defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor, ASP Raji Akeem, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on November 14, 2023, at No. 32, Olayemi Oduntayo St., Shangisha, Lagos State.
Akeem said that Udoko and the complainant, one Toyosi Adewale, engaged each other in a rambunctious fight over N300 leading to the defendant engaging others at large in beating up the complainant and damaging her gold chain reported to be of N900,000 value.
Garnered reports also stated that the defendant also damaged her HP laptop valued at N210,000.
The Magistrate, Bola Osunsanmi, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till February 5 for mention.
