Imo Strikers Queens founder, Prince Chidi has explained why the club decided to sponsor the education of their players.
The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Championship side recently gave some of their players scholarship to further their education in school.
Imo Strikers CEO, Prince said education is the key to success and basic education is very important and that’s why the players were sent to school to acquire knowledge.
The club chairman revealed the players education doesn’t affect their career because there’s a detailed plan that works smoothly with their career and schooling.
He further added that, the club have made arrangements for the players to have knowledge on skill acquisition.
“I felt that education is the key to success , no matter the career you pursue in life basic education is very important, so I decided to send some of them to school especially the ones that are not opportune to be school,” he told ECHONEWS exclusively.
“We timed everything, the ones going to school do train once a day and we have good arrangement with the school, so if they happen to miss any class because of club outing the school teachers will take them on extra classes when they return.
“Yes, the club has arranged a skill acquisition program for all the players between December 20th to 10th January, so the players will not be going on Christmas break.”
