Woli Arole, the popular Nigerian comedian turned prophet, recently took to Instagram to criticize a concerning trend in Nigerian university fellowships.

He expressed strong disapproval of student fellowship leaders who allegedly demand that members bring foodstuffs as “first fruits” , a practice traditionally associated with religious giving.

In his post, Arole condemned the exploitation of students, calling the situation “nonsense.”

He also highlighted how fellowship leaders are now being referred to as “Papas” and “Mamas,” suggesting a growing culture of spiritual hierarchy and possible manipulation within campus religious groups.

“I heard they are already calling you ‘Papa and Mama’ in university because you’re a fellowship leader, and you are also telling students to bring their foodstuffs as FIRST FRUIT. What nonsense.”
