In a show of people-centred leadership, Hon. Wale Raji, the member representing Epe Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has reaffirmed his commitment to improving education, community welfare, and infrastructure development as key pillars of his constituency agenda.

Raji in an interview, outlined how his interventions, ranging from school construction and elderly welfare to roads and markets are strategically designed to foster long-term socio-economic growth and improve quality of life across Epe communities.
“Education remains our top priority,” Raji emphasised. “We have established no fewer than five new schools and built over 20 blocks of classrooms in existing public schools. These efforts aim to enhance literacy, accessibility, and equal learning opportunities.”

Raji’s office has commissioned several new secondary schools across Oko-Abe, Ilege, and Owu-Ikosi all equipped with modern classrooms, toilets, and essential learning facilities.
He revealed that once the schools are completed, they are formally handed over to the Lagos State Government, which assumes responsibility for staffing and management.

“Our focus is on infrastructure and access,” he explained. “We build, equip, and hand over so that the schools can operate seamlessly.”

Reports indicate that through these efforts, Raji has facilitated over 150 new classrooms across the constituency, significantly expanding learning capacity in underserved areas.

Beyond education, Raji’s office also prioritises welfare and safety. Under his elderly welfare scheme, 150 senior citizens aged 70 and above receive a monthly stipend of ₦10,000, a gesture aimed at supporting the most vulnerable and ensuring no one is left behind.

In terms of infrastructure, he disclosed that over 20 new roads have been facilitated within the past three years, each fitted with solar-powered streetlights to improve night visibility and curb crime.

He also facilitated the construction of a new police quarters at Oke-Balogun, a project designed to strengthen security operations and provide officers with better living conditions.

Rep. Raji has also taken major steps to boost the local economy. He recently awarded contracts for a modern livestock market, expected to be completed within two months. The facility will create job opportunities and expand trading capacity for local farmers and vendors.
Earlier projects included the construction of 120 lock-up stalls at the Itoikin Market which were handed over free of charge to traders underscoring his commitment to grassroots empowerment and commerce growth.

Raji described his mission as one centred on “lasting empowerment” rather than temporary relief.

“Our projects are designed to deliver real, measurable impact — to educate, to empower, and to elevate,” he said. “Epe must be known not just for its history, but for its human capital and resilience.”

He called on community leaders and residents to take ownership of completed projects, urging collaboration with local authorities to ensure sustainability and proper maintenance.

As Hon. Wale Raji continues to push transformative projects across the Epe Federal Constituency, his developmental strides particularly in education, welfare, and infrastructure — reinforce a broader narrative of representation that goes beyond politics to tangible progress.

In Epe today, classrooms are rising, roads are lit, elders are cared for, and a new generation of learners is being prepared for the future.
