Wafu B CL: Aduku Declares War On Opponents
By Saheed Afolabi
Edo Queens tactician, Moses Aduku is unperturbed over the club’s group opponents in the CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers draws held on Wednesday.
The Benin Arsenal were drawn in group B of the Wafu B zone against Hasaacas Ladies (Ghana), Omnisports Etincele (Burkina Faso) and AS Garde National (Niger).
Aduku said the draws will rekindle the age long rivalries between Nigeria and Ghana as he stated the competition isn’t for jamboree or sight seeing but serious business which the team won’t joke with.
He expressed optimism that Edo Queens players are well focused and aren’t scared of any side in their battle for glory.
“We have seen the draws, we know that Nigeria and Ghana are age long rivalries in the round leather game,” Aduku was quoted by Edo Queens.
“We are going out to Cote D’Ivoire to play football not for jamboree, every team participating in this champions league is important, we are going there with one thing in mind that is to play and win. So it is a serious business for Edo Queens and for Nigeria.
“We are not depending on man but God. I’m quite aware that we have a big task ahead of us, my girls are not scared of any team. We are going for war and we are ready to fight.”
Aduku led Edo Queens to win their first NWFL Premiership title in 2024. Which marked the Benin Ladies first major title win in their existence.
