Delta Queens captain, Taiwo Afolabi has pledged that the team will give their best at the Wafu B Champions League, ECHONEWS exclusively report.
Afolabi was just named the captain of the Asaba based club recently and she’s aiming to lead her side to their first continental silverware.
Taiwo said Delta Queens have had an excellent preparation towards the Wafu B Champions League and they are physically and mentally prepared for the task at hand.
The midfield maestro added that she didn’t expect to be named the captain of Delta Queens as she set the aim of the club is to win the Wafu B Champions League.
“Our preparation towards the Wafu B as been excellent . We are physically and mentally prepared for the task ahead,” Afolabi told ECHONEWS exclusively.
“I was surprised when I was named as new captain for the team because is something I never dreamt of, but I accepted it as part of the challenge that will make my game improve because as a captain you have to give 100 percent of commitment in every area of what will make the team win and I take that as a new challenge that will take my game to the next level so I felt no pressure because am always focused on my improvement and take this as what will make my game improve.
“With the kind of training we received from the coaches we are going out there to give nothing less than 100 percent performance to achieve our aim of winning the Wafu B.”
