Vintage/Ilupeju All Stars Cup Provides Developmental Platform For Youngsters – Abass

Mr Abass Salau has disclosed the objectives of the Vintage/Ilupeju All Stars Cup which has seen the competition maintain 15 years of sustainability.
The stakeholder is ecstatic over the opportunities the competition avails for youngsters in the community and how they can sustain their careers.
Abass said the motive of the tournament is to encourage talented players in the grassroots and provide funds for their exposure through the Vintage/Ilupeju All Stars Cup.
He revealed that some handful of players who participated in previous editions have sealed professional contracts in Europe and the indigenous leagues in Nigeria.
“We are just trying to encourage the youths and put together some funds to assist them and play a part in development of this community we grew up in.
“We have some young talented players coming up, if you look around, we have some scouts to look for the exceptional players.
“Last year, we had players that have gone on to make trials in Europe and some were able to seal professional contracts with NPFL, NNL clubs. We expanded the number of teams this year to accommodate more players.”
