Victor Boniface has reacted to his move to German Bundesliga side, Bayer Leverkusen.
Boniface described his move to Leverkusen as a rare privilege after experiencing the atmosphere at the stadium.
The 23-year-old Nigerian forward disclosed that he wants to be part of the successes of Die Werkself (The Company’s Eleven).
“The move to Leverkusen is a special opportunity I definitely wanted to take up. I’ve already experienced the atmosphere here at the stadium, and back then, I was able to assess the possibilities at this club.
“This is a top club with a brilliant team. I’m really looking forward to playing football here, and I want to play my part in the future success of Bayer 04.”
Boniface has penned a five years deal at Bayer Leverkusen that will run till June 2028.
Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen has revealed the reasons for signing Victor Boniface from Union St Gilloise.
Boniface completed his move to Leverkusen after completing his medicals over the weekend in Germany.
The Die Schwarzroten (The Black and Reds) confessed to having Boniface on their radar for a long time and attributed their interest to him through his direct duel, physicality, pace and technicality.
The German side is optimistic, the 22-year old forward will add more quality to their squad and give them more options.
“Bayer 04 Leverkusen have signed Nigerian Victor Boniface from top Belgian Club Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.
“The 22-year-old signed a contract with the Bundesliga club that runs until 30 June 2028 and will wear the number 22 shirt. We’ve had Victor Boniface on our radar for a long time.
“His performance in a direct duel then absolutely confirmed our positive assessment. Victor is a very present centre forward who is difficult to play and who poses a challenge for every defender just because of his physicality.”
