Valiant FC head coach, Owolabi Mustapha says the club are worthy champions of The Creative Championship (TCC) Cup.
Valiant FC defeated Gbagada FC 6-5 in penalty shootout after coming from two goals down to equalize 2-2 with Gbagada FC before dragging the game to penalty shootout.
Speaking exclusively to Echonews.ng, Valiant FC coach, Owolabi Mustapha said he told his players at half time the importance of winning the TCC Cup and the development attached to it as a player.
“So I let them understand the aim of the TCC and part of development is improvement and if you improve, you will develop.
“I let them know in the second half of the game they need to change the rhythm of the game. They need to start playing the way Valiant FC have been playing, they should leave anxiety out of it and they will get the best out of them.
“They kept possession of the ball, they were tactical aggressive and precise in their playing. Passing the ball at the right time and shooting the ball at the right time.”
The Valiant FC tactician added that he wasn’t under any form of pressure in the game when the club was two goals down in game as he believes Valiant FC will experience more development next season and will be targeting the double of the league title and the Cup.
“Honestly this is the first final I will be playing not been anxious, no fear, zero fear because I definitely know my boys, when they are committed, they will do it. I can say it that we have one of the youngest if not the youngest squad in the TCC.
“We should be expecting development next season, development can win the league, development can win both the league title and the cup.”
