UPDATE: COVID -19 cases hit 34 in Oshodi-Isolo

Oshodi-Isolo LG recorded 11.8 per cent increase in the number of positive cases of COVID -19 in one week as the cases increased from 30 last week to 34 this week.

 

Last week, ECHONEWS authoritatively reported that there were 30 cases of confirmed persons with COVID-19 in Oshodi-Isolo out of the samples collected at Ajibulu Sample Collection Centre since it started operation on Thursday, April 16, 2020 as well as other samples collected elsewhere.

 

Out of the 30 cases last week, 12 were from Isolo, 11 from Oshodi while seven were from Ejigbo.

 

However, the report released by the Lagos State Government during weekend showed that all the 20 LGAs in the state had reported cases of the infection with Lagos Mainland, Eti-Osa, and Mushin having 541, 200, and 138 cases respectively as of Friday afternoon.

 

Ikeja had 73 infections while Alimosho had 69 cases followed by Kosofe with 59 cases and Apapa with 55 cases.

 

Somolu reported 40 cases, Amuwo-Odofin – 35, Oshodi-Isolo – 34, Surulere – 31, Lagos Island – 30, Ibeju-Lekki – 26, Ajeromi-Ifelodun – 18, Agege – 13, Ifako-Ijaiye – 12, Ikorodu – 8, Epe – 8, Badagry – 5 and Ojo – 4.

 

With these figures, the state government is planning to increase the isolation centres in the state from the current capacities which are as follow: IDH, Yaba – 115, Gbagada – 118, LUTH – 60, Lekki Center – 45, Onikan – 100, Landmark Center – 70, Agidingbi Centre – 34 and First Cardiology – 5 (Critical Care).
