Two Lagos Residents Face Prosecution Over Illegal Refuse Dumping

The Lagos State Government is set to prosecute two residents who have violated it’s environmental laws through indiscriminate dumping of refuse.
The arrestees: Usman Ibrahim and Collins Onyekachi were arrested yesterday by the state’s waste management authority, LAWMA, on Tuesday while commiting the offence on the median at Ijesha Expressway.
The agency stated that the act did not only contravene the stipulated laws but also put distrupts the government’s efforts in ensuring tidy environment in the metropolis.
Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, urged all residents to glue to the directives and laws to ensure a clean environmental for all.
Wahab also warned perpetrators of the act stating that more arrests and prosecution will be enforced on errring individuals.
