Ex international, Tijani Babangida has revealed the secrets of winning the 2024 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) for Nigeria.
The former wing wizard is optimistic that Nigeria can win the next AFCON in Ivory Coast if the right mentality is being approached by the Super Eagles.
Babangida banks on the talented crop of players in the Nigeria squad to win the AFCON title in Ivory Coast but admits it won’t come easy.
“I am very optimistic the Super Eagles can win the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations if they truly approach it with the right mentality.
“The crop of players in the team are very talented and can withstand any team at the tournament. Yes, it won’t come easy but I believe we can claim the trophy.”
Nigeria sealed a berth at the next AFCON in Ivory Coast after seeing off Sierra Leone 3-2 in Monrovia.
The last time the Super Eagles won the AFCON was in 2013 when the late Stephen Keshi tutored side emerges champions by defeating Burkina Faso 1-0 courtesy of a 39th-minute striker from Sunday Mba.
