Tijani Appeal To Residents To Maintain Public Infrastructure

The Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area, Mr. Hammed Idowu D. Tijani has emphasized the importance of preserving public infrastructure for future generations during an inspection tour of ongoing projects.

 

Accompanied by council members, Tijani expressed satisfaction with the quality and progress of the work being carried out on the 10 projects they visited, including a drainage construction project on Anifowose Street, Abule Egba.

 

Chairman Tijani praised the efforts of the contractor and commended the Council Engineer, Arch. Sunday Makinde, for his close monitoring of the projects.

Echonews reports that the Chairman disclosed that upon completion of the drainage projects, phase two of the road development will commence, involving asphalt, interlocking, or grading of roads as needed.

 

Council Manager Adeyemi Adebola also appealed to residents to pay their rates and tariffs to support the completion of these projects.

 

Residents praised the Chairman’s efforts in improving road conditions across all the wards, referring to him as a messiah who had brought relief to the community. They expressed gratitude for his dedication to transforming their roads and neighborhoods.

 

 

Mr. Samson Olatunji Afolabi, a resident of Ibrahim Street, New Oko-Oba, commended the Chairman for the commencement of the drainage construction project, noting that the state of the road was poor before the intervention. He urged the Chairman not to relent in his efforts.

Another resident, Mr. Ajala Olayinka Olaniran, praised the Chairman for the relief brought by the drainage project to Oyedeji Street. He further appealed for the timely completion of the drainage and the speedy asphalting of the road.

 

Among the various project sites visited by the Chairman and his team was the New Oko-Oba Primary School, where renovation work had been completed on some classroom blocks, and the team planned to start working on another set of classroom blocks.

 

The Chairman’s commitment to upgrading public infrastructure, including schools, not only improves the quality of education for students but also sets a positive example for community development.

 

 

The Community Development Association Chairman of Good Will Community where the school is located Alhaji Rasaq Adewunmi could not hide his thoughts as he showered praises on the Chairman for his intervention on the school. He explained that some of the classrooms were completely dilapidated before chairman’s intervention which has made learning easier for their children.

Other visited sites includes New Oko-Oba Primary School, Ibrahim Street, New Oko-Oba; Olujola Street; Abule Egba, Kuburat Agbedeyi Street, Olusegun Oladapo Street; Akinde Community; Church Street off Adeyoola Street; Musbau Oseni Street amongst others.

 

In all nine (9) two sided drainage construction sites and one rehabilitation of classroom blocks were visited.
