Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, popularly known as Blaqbonez, has shared his unconventional views on marriage, revealing that he would be comfortable with an open arrangement.
Speaking on a recent episode of the In My Opinion podcast, Blaqbonez argued that many married couples experience a decline in sexual intimacy over time, often due to limited opportunities for exploration outside the relationship.
According to him, it is acceptable for a married person to be intimate with someone else when their partner is unavailable, as long as emotional commitment remains intact.
He said:
“I don’t mind having an open marriage. Most married couples don’t keep having the same amount of sex they were having at the beginning, it reduces.
If somebody is satisfying her sexually while I’m hustling and touring, that’s okay. There’s more to marriage than sex. I don’t mind her sleeping with someone else, provided she’s dedicated to me.”
The rapper added that emotional bonds and shared experiences are far more valuable than exclusivity.
“It will be hard for anyone to match what I have invested emotionally. Nobody is going to get her sexually and mentally addicted like me. They probably can’t even make her laugh the way I do.
If I ever get married, I’ll need two rooms my wife and I will only meet when we want to be intimate.”
