Taiwo Fayemi CDA seeks completion of drainage

The executive members of Taiwo Fayemi CDA are calling on the Lagos State Ministry of Environment to complete the drainage that links their area with Idimu-Ejibo road.
They spoke on an advocacy visit to Echonews Newspapers to seek the Newspapers support for their cause.
The CDA Chairman, Mr. Olajide Makinde also disclosed the plan by the association to write the Ministry of Environment, Department of Drainage Services as well as the Ministry of Physical and Urban Development Planing for a review of the drainage in Fayemi Street which connects drains (gutters) in over seven streets to Idimu Road, noting that the community is affected by flood due to bad structure of the drainage.
The CDA also appealed to the Local Council authority to assist in sanctioning the residents who do not clean their surroundings, noting that the drains are blocked by indiscriminate waste disposal.
Responding, the former Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Kehinde Bamigbetan urged the CDA to work with the local government..
While guiding Taiwo Fayemi CDA on project ideas and execution in its community, Bamigbetan, who is the former Chairman of Ejigbo LCDA, said in structure, CDA should be the lowest level of government.
As an LCDA chairman, Bamigbetan recalled that before his administration, there were only 15 CDAs in Ejigbo LCDA but his administration ensured they were increased to 80 before he left office.
“Before I came in as the LCDA chairman, there were only 15 CDAs, I increased them to 80 for effective governance because I worked with them as the fourth tier of government. Now they have been increased to about 110.
The CDA executive members who visited Bamigbetan include the Chairman, Mr. Olajide Makinde, Treasurer, Mr. Adeboyejo Titus, Auditor, Alhaji Shittu, Ex-Officio, Alhaji Sumade, and the Public Relations Officer, Alhaja Seriki.
