Kehinde Adegbodu, one-half of the popular Yoruba gospel music duo known as the Adegbodu Twins, has revealed that his twin brother, Taiwo Adegbodu, died from a heart attack.
Taiwo’s death, which occurred about a week ago, had earlier been announced by Kehinde on March 1, 2026, though the cause was not disclosed at the time.
Speaking to visitors at their residence in Ibadan, Kehinde recounted the events that led to the sudden loss, stating that his brother had not been ill before the incident.
According to him, Taiwo complained of chest pain shortly before he was rushed to the hospital.
In a video circulating on social media, Kehinde narrated their final moments together, explaining that the two brothers had just concluded their usual nightly prayers before retiring to their separate rooms.
“We went to our rooms after our usual night prayers around 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 28. At about 10:55 p.m., he knocked on my door and said he was having chest pains,” he said.
Kehinde added that he immediately drove his brother to the hospital, but Taiwo passed away just minutes after they arrived.
“He was never sick,” he added while recounting the tragic incident.
The Adegbodu Twins were widely known in the Yoruba gospel music scene, where they built a reputation for their energetic performances and spiritually themed songs.
Taiwo’s sudden death has continued to draw condolences from fans, colleagues and members of the gospel music community.
