Super Eagles ends 8 years home record of the Squirrels of Benin

The Super Eagles of Nigeria ended an 8 year home winning streak of the Squirrels of Benin by defeating them 1-0, the goal was scored by Paul Onuachu late in the game.

The Super Eagles had a disappointing run in the first half managing just one shot on target despite dictating proceedings.

Henry Oyekuru was the main culprit in the Super Eagles team, he had chances to score in the first half but squandered them.

Henry Oyekuru had a clear chance in front of the box 18 in the 24th minute but saw his week shot like a back pass easily saved by the Squirrels of Benin goalie.

Zaidu Sanusi who put up an excellent performance in the game, provided a fantastic square play to gift Oyekuru a brilliant chance to score a free header but instead, Oyekuru headed straight to the goalie of Benin.

Samuel Chukweze also blasted a great chance over the goal post from close range in the 47th minute.

Victor Osimhen hit the goal post in the 55th minute after getting past his marker with brilliant control of the ball.

Paul Onuachu scored the only goal of the match in the 90th minute with a powerful header.
