Residents of Anipele, Aregbe, and Kuseyi communities in Mushin LG has lauded the Chairman, Mr Tunbosun Aruwe, following the successful installation of solar-powered streetlights across the communities.

The project, which has transformed previously dark and unsafe neighbourhoods into brightly lit and secure areas, has brought immense relief and joy to the people. Many residents say the new lights have not only boosted security but have also revived night-time economic activities and made daily life far more comfortable.

A visibly elated shop owner, Mrs. Adebayo said the street lights have made night trading safer.

“Before these lights, we were afraid to open in the evenings. Now, business is better, and we feel safer walking home at night. We are truly grateful to Chairman Aruwe for this wonderful gift,” she noted.

Another resident, Mr. Olumide, joined the chorus of appreciation, describing the initiative as an expected change from the council boss in keeping communities safe.

“The streets are brighter, and the area feels more alive. We thank the Council Chairman for all the development he has been doing in Mushin Local Government. We hope he continues with more projects like this,” he added.

Residents now walk freely at night, children play safely under the lights, and traders stay open longer, enjoying improved sales. The solar-powered lights, which come on automatically at dusk, have also reduced the fear of crime and accidents that once plagued the communities after dark.

During an inspection of the project, Aruwe reiterated his commitment to providing conducive and safe environment for the residents.

“A secure and well-lit environment is the foundation of a thriving community. We are committed to ensuring that every street in Mushin Local Government is safe, accessible, and conducive for our people to live, work, and thrive,” he stated.
