Stop Sharing Unsolicited Spam Codes To Peoples’ Phones- POCACOV

The Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices, POCACOV, has urged the general public to shun sending received spam codes to avert fraudulent activities by scammers.

POCACOV enjoined the public to guard themselves against unsolicited messages from anonymous numbers as fraudsters have adopted such act to hack bank account details and social media accounts.

The body disclosed that sending back such codes could lead to other highly negative occurrences such as being linked to terrorists’ groups. The body said, “The general public should note that no matter the type of code sent to your phone, please don’t send such code back to anyone. Codes sent to your phone could be used to hack your Facebook, email and Whatsapp and Instagram accounts.

“The code could be used to hack your bank ATM Card details to empty your bank accounts. It could also aid in registering you in an organization you know nothing about.

“Code sent to your phone could be used to hack your phone. The general public should be aware that banks don’t request for any Codes. Facebook or WhatsApp have no human representative that answers calls or call you for anything. Don’t fall Victim of fraudsters and evil people. Be Wise.”
