Solar Giwa Bows Out of Lagos Govt, Declares Political Ambition
The Special Adviser on Transportation to Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Sola Giwa, has resigned from his position.
Giwa announced his decision in a statement posted on his official X account on Wednesday, stating that he stepped down from office the previous day.
Reflecting on his time in government, he described the role as a privilege and expressed appreciation to the governor for the opportunity to serve, noting his contributions to ongoing transport reforms under the THEMES Plus Agenda.
“It has been an honour to serve and contribute to the transformation of our transport system,” he said.
The former aide explained that his resignation was driven by his intention to pursue elective office, revealing plans to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives.
According to him, the decision followed consultations and a desire to represent the people of Lagos Island Federal Constituency II.
Giwa added that his focus in the next phase of his career would be on strengthening representation and promoting legislation that delivers tangible benefits to constituents.
