Simi Achieves First International Certification with Hit Song ‘Duduke’

Nigerian singer Simisola Kosoko, popularly known as Simi, has received her first international certification with her hit song ‘Duduke’.
The track, released in 2022, was recently certified Gold in New Zealand for selling 15,000 units, marking a significant milestone in the singer’s career.
‘Duduke’ captures the rhythmic beat of Simi’s heart for her unborn child, and the music video features her flaunting her baby bump. The song also inspired the popular ‘Duduke Challenge’, which invited fans to create their own interpretations of the track.
Simi revealed in an interview that some people have nicknamed her daughter, Adejare, “Duduke,” inspired by the song. She clarified that while the nickname is not offensive, she prefers that people refer to her daughter by her actual name.
