The match Day 2 of the Sheroes Cup didn’t go without much excitement as the toughest game of the day was between Nasarawa Amazons vs Delta Queens, whereas a lone goal scored by Chinaza Agbor secured the win for Delta Queens.
Royal Queens coach has thi to say, “It’s a good feeling to have six points from two games, we are in top gear at the moment. And the honey Badgers team have us a good fight, I thank God for the victory.
“I equally want to thank the organizer of the Sheroes Cup, it’s a good initiative and it’s a positive development to women football.”
Coach Felicia Anthony Honey Badgers described their losses as lack of experience on her team side.
“Lack of experience made us to lose two games but we are a championship side that’s building for the future.
“By the grace of God, we will work on our mistakes and improve in our next game.”
Coach Moses Aduku of Edo Queens said winning is a joyful thing but the development of the players is their priority.
“Winning is a joyful thing, we thank God for the victory but this is a preseason tournament and we are watching out for the players development.
“We came here to test every player, we came here with 32 players, so you can see today, we tested some players.”
Naija Ratels coach, Sabo Okala said the preseason is an avenue to test their players as he plays down his team’s losses.
“There’s no basis for disappointment, this is a preseason game and it’s to see the level of your preparation for the season proper.
“It’s good for us that we are having this opportunity to test our players.
“To some extent, we will proffer solution to this goal scoring problems.”
Coach Tosan Blankson described his team win as a tough one.
“It was a tough game and we gave it all and the girls played better than their last game maybe due to the fact that, they have rested well from the first.
“Preseason game or not, there’s a pride attached to it, so there have to be continuity in the team.”
Coach Oluwaseyi Olaoye of Nasarawa Amazons attributed his team’s loss to the wastefulness of chances in front of goal.
“It’s a disappointment that we lost against Delta Queens, we had our chances in the first half but we couldn’t convert them.”
The coach of Confluence Queens, Israel Akata said, the game is a good match as they hope to use the preseason tournament to polish their team.
Coach Liadi Bashiru said he feel elated for getting his first win of the tournament and rues his team’s missed chances.
