SheFootball: Nigeria Elite Referee, Folashade Ekun Hails Ayisat Yusuf

Nigeria elite referee, Folashade Ekun has lauded the impacts of national team legend, Ayisat Yusuf to the development of women’s football.

Aishat recently had the annual SheFootball Conference which majorly centered on impacting knowledge to Nigeria referees by Austrian FIFA Badged Referee, Sara Telet in Lagos.

Speaking to ECHONEWS exclusively, Ekun extolled the virtues of Yusuf for recognizing the development of her roots in Football while playing a huge role in the lives of youngsters in the grassroots.

“I want to commend our Super Falcons legend, Ayisat Yusuf for her contributions to the growth of women’s football in the grassroots over the years,” she said.

“She has added a huge growth and impact to the lives and careers of this youngsters who have taken to football as a career path to become successful in life.”

She applauded the FIFPRO award winner for prioritizing referees knowledge while describing the event as a laudable initiative which will test the hand of time.

“I want to also praise her for organizing a referee seminar and incurring the cost of flying a foreign FIFA badge referee to educate and impact knowledge on the indigenous referees in Lagos state, this is however a laudable initiative that will be highly beneficial to the referees.”

Aishat donated scores of jerseys, training materials, boots to grassroots clubs and players.
