“While receiving the sad news, Olaleye was in great shock even as he grieved over the sad event.

“Aside hailing from Abeokuta, both council bosses were quite close and maintained close family relationship.

“They were both two-term council bosses who weathered political Odysseys that seemed to threaten their return to the council seats of Isolo and Onigbongbo LCDAs in the run up to the last local government elections in 2017.

“For Olaleye, this is death too many to bear. Oke’s death is coming on the heels of yet another close acquaintance of Olaleye, following that of Lagos East senator, Hon. Bayo Osinowo who died on 15th June 2020 due to complications from COVID-19.

“Olaleye who described late Oke as a true friend and a dependable ally said a vacuum has been created which would be difficult to fill,” the statement read.

He said the council boss (Olaleye) noted that the demise of the Onigbongbo council chairman was a personal tragedy due to the close relationship they both shared.
