The Chairman of Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Shamsudeen Olaleye (Shammeh), has commended the council leader, Hon. Remy Shittu Remy for facilitating various programmes for the development of the youths in the council area.
One of such programmes is the just concluded Waste to Wealth training for some young school leavers organised by United States Government Exchange Alumni Association (USGEAA).
Others include Drone Construction trainings and IVLP Mentorship programme for students of Central High School, Okota; IVLP Community Impact Programme on combating Drug Addiction and Crime Prevention for 10 senior secondary schools in Isolo; IVLP Alumni Mentorship Programme for Students of Ajumoni Senior Grammar School as well as Covid-19 Stimulus Packages for 100 physically challenged people in Isolo.
In addition to developing the youths through the programmes, Olaleye noted that the council leader has also exposed the council international recognition.
He said: “I’ll have to appreciate him. He has been very useful to the local government and I know that he is exposed to initiative such as these. He’s a fantastic person. We are lucky to have his kind. Where you have able hands, areas where your mind will not shift to they will help you shift it to it. This is not his first time. I will only encourage him to do more. He’s a blessing to the local government.
“People like us can be very proud and very happy when we are no longer at this level. With people like him in the local government, we know that the local government will go to places.
Remy is an alumnus of the Lagos state’s chapter of US International Visitors Leadership Programme (IVLP).
