Senator Abiru Distributes Foods To Lagos East Constituents

The chairman Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and Other Financial Institutions,Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, has distributed over 6,000 packs of food to vulnerable members of the society in the Lagos East Senatorial District.

It will be recalled that the Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District launched the quarterly Food Packs Programme in June 2023, making it the second edition of the programme aimed at vulnerable people, namely; widows, unemployed youth, aged, women and People living with disabilities are drawn across the 98 wards in the 16 Local Government Areas and Local Council Development areas of the district.

Constituents trooped out en masse to various collections in Ikorodu, Epe, Ibeju-Lekki, Somolu and Kosofe LGAs to collect the Food Packs containing:Goldenvita, Semo Vita, Garri, Pure Soya Oil, Spread(Butter), Granulated Sugar, Pasta Couscous, Pasta Macaroni, Pasta Spaghetti, Noodles Jollof, Noodles GMPS and Amazing Day Breakfast Cereal.

In his remarks, Senator Abiru, said the food packs programme was a direct intervention for the people at the grassroot who are feeling the heat of the economic pangs occasioned by the removal of petroleum subsidy.

According to him, the Food Packs will support the most vulnerable households in this challenging period.

The Senator also assured that he will not relent in championing legislations, programmes and interventions that will have lasting impacts on the larger number of the constituents of Lagos East.

Some of the beneficiaries who expressed gratitude to Senator Abiru include; Muftau Adegboyega Tojuowo, a Person Living with a Disability, other include, Anuoluwapo Zainab, Tiletile Kazeem Idowu, Folake Akerele and Niyi Oyeniran.

Dignitaries at the Ikorodu distribution venue include Dr Saheed Oladapo Ibikunle – the Special Adviser to the Senator on Constituency Matters, Hon (Mrs) Adebimpe Akinsola, Alhaji Rilwan Ishola Jinadu, Alhaja Abiodun Ogunniyi, Arc Taiwo Kara, Alhaji F O Lasisi, Alhaji Mondiu Jimoh and Hon Sefiu Ogunyemi, amongst others.
