Six out of the 18 councillorship aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) have been disqualified by the screening committee from participating in the party’s primary election coming up this weekend.
The seven aspirants are
Usman Adele (Okota), Tijani Yusuf Abolaji (Akinbaiye), Wasiu Durojaye (Alagbeji), Kehinde Ajala (Ishagatedo Ire-Akari) Nkechi Nwogu and Luqmon Ogunleye (Ilasamaja) were declared ‘not cleared’ in the result of the screening exercise held upper weekend.
In the result, as obtained by ECHONEWS, only Ajao Estate and Apena Wards have all their 5 aspirants cleared as at least one aspirant from Okota, Akinbaiye, Ilasamaja, Ishagatedo/Akari and Alagbeji could not sail through the screening process.
Going by the result and the closure of the appeal for the screening exercise yesterday, the incumbent councillors from Ishagatedo/Ire-Akari, Alagbeji and Okota Wards, Hon. Abisodun Odusina-Adeoye, Hon. Olanrewaju Kayode and Hon. Kanayo Onyedinma Osondu will contest without opposition in the primary election while the council leader, Hon. Remy Shittu Remy and his deputy, Hon. Akeem Ayoola will be locking horns with Hon. Yusuf Temitope and Hon. Nofisat Shobayo-Lawal in their respective wards.
Elsewhere, all the councillorship aspirants from Ajao Estate will be battling it out in the primaries and for Akinbaiye Ward, Hon. Amusa Idris is the sole contestant for the party’s ticket.
