School Guard Remanded For Alleged Defilement

A school security guard in a Lagos school has been arraigned in court by the Police over allegations of sexual assault bordering on rape and defilement of a four-year-old female pupil
At the Ogudu Magistrates’ Court where the alleged transgressor was arraigned, the police held that the alleged transgressor, 22 year-old Ifeanyi Udoka, who was tasked with protection of lives and properties at the school identified as King Heritage School in Ikosi, Ketu took the minor to a secluded area and perpetrated the act, thus, contravening the Child Rights Law.
The police submitted that a source familiar with the matter who has volunteered to testify against the suspect as prosecution witness in court, said the incident came to light when the child’s grandmother observed strange behaviour after the girl returned home from school on the event day.
The source said that the victim began urinating on herself uncontrollably during the day.
A charge against Ifeanyi at the court reads, “That you, Ifeanyi Kelvin Udoka ‘M’, sometimes in May, 2025, at King Heritage School Ikosi Ketu in the Ikeja Magisterial district did defile one (name withheld) ‘F’, age 4 years old, by having canal knowledge of her and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 137 of the criminal law of Lagos State 2015.”
Following the defendant’s not guilty plea, the court ordered his remand at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre pending legal advice from the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
The court directed the police division in Ketu to continue investigation over in the matter.
The matter was adjourned till June 25 for further proceedings.
