SCHOOL DONATES MATCH BALLS

Conveners of the ongoing Lagos State Inter-Schools’ cup, Wonderland Sports, has praised Ferscoat Schools, Olude Ipaja Lagos, for donating 20 match balls to be used in the soccer competition.
Coordinator of the event, Tayo Adeyemo, said this during a courtesy visit to the school alongside expressing his gratitude to the school’s proprietor, Pastor Felix Opata, for identifying with Nigerian youths through sports which the latter said the gesture was part of the school’s 25th anniversary.
“We have always identified with programmes that will improve Nigeria as a country and we understand the power of sports to help in discovering talents for the nation.
“We are passionate about nation building which makes Ferscoat Schools unique, and sports is one area we feel we can tap in to give our children the desired support, stated Opara.
Meanwhile, 2016 finalist, Cedar College are through to the round of 16 after a 2-1 win over Phidel College Idimu in group E. There was a big upset recorded in the tournament as Ajibay College proved bookmakers wrong makers by beating title favourites Murtala Muhammed Airport Schools Ikeja 2-nill in group A.
High Cue College, Isolo were also beneficiaries of the same scoreline over Effortswill School Ejigbo in front of their vociferous fans.
